  • Great PC VI host!

Try AudioMulch! Simple, remembers setups properly, and seems extremely efficient. (Not only that, but at $89 US, it's pretty cheap and does all sorts of other cool things... If you ever get into non-orchestral messing about, that is.)

btw- it seems to run better on my P4 2.8 than on my G5 dual 1.8. Does that seem right? Looking at the info thread, it may not be far off... but my G5 really doesn't seem to be running it very well. I realized yesterday that I didn't install the samples on a totally clear drive, so is it possible that some of my poor performance is related to disk fragmentation?

  • I agree - AudioMulch is a very capable and (if you want) very deep program.

  • Hey Dietz,

Any thoughts on the performance differences? I've just picked up a spare drive, so I'm going to try on a totally clean disk, to see if it behaves any better. Is fragmentation generally a big concern; I mean, are VIs particularly sensitive to fragmentation? Perhaps because of the compressed format?

    Curious.

  • Uh - no idea. I'm under the impression that Mulch is PC-only, isn't it?

  • huh?

No, sorry, I'm back to the Mac now, which is hosting VIs in Logic Pro 7.2.1.

(though it looks quite promising for a Mac Mulch, someday!)
