  • Podcasts in Winamp?

    Hi all,

I'm brand-new to the world of podcasts.

I'd just as soon avoid having to download, install and subscribe to iTunes, if it is at all possible.

Is there any way that I can get the podcasts (both here and on the up-again, down-again http://www.learngigastudio.com/ site) to play in Winamp or some comparable "no strings attached"-type application?

In an earlier thread, I see mention of a podcast that was "tested in winamp 5.21," but I don't know if that just means that someone tested the audio in Winamp before creating an iTunes-only podcast out of it...???

As of right now, I can't figure out how to access anything other than a text-based "table of contents-like" description of the podcast in my web browser. Is that all I'll ever see unless I "do the iTunes thing"?

    Thanks for any/all advice,

hi, you can download winamp here and after installation go to the podcast, right mouseclick on View the RSS feed to get the url under properties. in winamp you have a window called media library, add the url under SHOUTcast Wire/Subscriptions and here you go.
    hope that helps,
    cheers michael
