Is 9k/sec normal?

I've been trying to download the demos and tutorial video for VSL, however I get only 9k/sec which makes the download VERY long. Is this the usual, or is there a bandwidth problem?

I have broadband so it should be going around 100k atleast.

hmmm - our server is connected to a 100 Mbit line, so bandwidth should not be an issue ...
however the routing from vienna to your IP-address shows unusual behaviour - via new york and chicago to san francisco and then back to new jersey and then they get lost (possibly because you're offline in this moment)
maybe you can check out the route to vsl.co.at from your side to get some idea why the connection is so slow.
in case you are using a proxy (preferences of your internet connection) i'd try to uncheck this option
