    Just want to be clear, does the most recent software update that mentions VST mean VI is now working on the Mac with Nuendo?

    I am still unable to install this software update because the installer quits....

    It works perfectly with Cubase, and as they share the same VST procedure, I would assume it works with Nuendo.

    Thank you Jay. Now if I can just get the installer to stop quitting so I can get it up and running...

    I've been following your threads on this for over a week. Man. Sorry to hear about this. I'm going to start in with installing the rest of my Cube tonight-- and I'll join you on your installation thread if I find a solution.

    No, downloaded it again tonight with a different browser, opened the installer, clicked "Continue" and got "The App. Installer Has Unexpectedly Quit." This is really frustrating as I need the VST version of VI if I am going over to give Nuendo a try. I am hoping someone from VSL will help me get up and running. This is crazy.

    apps quitting like that are often caused by permissions problems -- the installer tries to access a file it has no permission to change and hangs up. I assume you've tried a permission repair?

    Maybe give this a go:

    1) open a terminal
    2) launch your installer
    3) back in the terminal type "sudo fs_usage > /installer_run.txt"
    4) enter your password
    5) run installer (presumably until it quits)
    6) quit fs_usage back in terminal by typing control-C

    This should give you a text file at the root level of your drive with a log of all the files accessed while the installer was running. Maybe you'll see something fishy. But then again, maybe you won't! It's helped me in the past, though.

    duh, sorry... 10.4.6. Saw it in your other thread.

    Have you manually checked the permissions on Webkit itself, by any chance? Is it in your system, where it should be?

    /System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/WebKit

    This points to a link/alias to WebKit/Versions/A/WebKit. Have you double-checked that it is, in fact, there? (I know, that's probably stupid, but why not?)

    Well, if we're on "nothing is stupid", have you checked the file size? I've found at least one problem report regarding WebKit where the file was truncated -- mine is 1020 KB. I can pm or direct email you a zipped copy of mine if you want to try it(?).

    Make sure about the permissions, too: owner: system, group: wheel
    You can read only, system can read/write, wheel and others read only.
