    Anyone had problems with the VI Software OSX106b ppc installer? I just downloaded it and it quit immediately. Tried several times with no luck.

    If anyone has used this yet with the VST wrapper from FXpansion for Pro Tools would be really interested in hearing if it works....

    Have you done the Syncrosoft routine? The installer will quit if you haven't.

    You mean the routine I have to go through periodically to get Logic to open??? Rescanning, restarting, etc?

    No, I mean the installation routine. [:)]

    If you don't know what I mean, it's worth downloading the video they made explaining it. You have to authorize the Syncrosoft dongle before the installer will launch.

    tom should have already several licenses on his ViennaKey, so the installer itself should run.
    if the corresponding license is missing, the library installer will deny installation of the respective collection.
    possibly no key was attached at the time tom intended to run the installer though ....

    i'd recommend to reboot the machine before updating the software to make sure no processes are still running and possibly accessing something which will prevent the update

    I've restarted, resinserted the key, refreshed the license control center, etc. Installer still quits...

    Man do I hate this Synchrosoft thing.

    a few more thoughts ...
    - the installer file has been corrupted during download (re-download)
    - some file permissions have been corrupted and prevent an install (verify/repair permissions)

    That qualifies for the understatement of the year!

    I made a point not to pick up my last 5 volumes of the Cube on 6-6-06, and intentionally waited until 6-7!

    I'm having the same issues, am following the same suggestions posted throughout the forum, but please forgive my saying again that the authorization process is the single most unpleasant experience on a computer I've ever had. It took two weeks to get the just strings to authorize and load properly with incessant additional authorization errors after installation. Even when my entire computer failed I had it up and running again in half a day.

    I hope the VSL team undertands how awkward this is: money set aside for Extended licenses is now being put towards decent sounds I can use right away until such time Syncrosoft gets its act together. When that happens, I'll be able to properly dig into VI. Sorry for the rant, but authorization hassles are simply overwhelming. It shouldn't take more than two days to get everything up and running.

    Look, I have downloaded the software again, and the installer still quits. I've restarted, still quits. I've run the License Control Center. Still quits. I have reinserted the key. Still quits.

    Is there anyway I can update my software?

    Any help appreciated.

    Hi Tom, just landed on this thread. I assume you managed to fix the issue you had. Do you remember what the problem was?
