  • Thanks VSL - Thanks Mattias

Wow - these last titles are nothing short of astounding!!! My hats off to you, VSL team. There are SO MANY good samples that NOT having Mattias' memory 3GB tweak would make the whole process very frustrating.

Mattias - thanks again for sharing this knowledge with us. Now with five computers running this tweak I can have loaded up on my templates - 14 GB of VI samples (2.8 GB x 5). 3 days ago it was only 8 GB (and increase of 75%) - for the minor cost of RAM [[;)]]

note to VSL - I am sure you have taken care of Mattias for allowing your users to use MORE of your wonderful samples. If you have not, please consider sending him a title or two. I can't even imagine going back to 1.6 GB on one machine.

--Thanks again to both of you [[:D]]

    (Oh yea - almost forgot - where's the choir???) [8-)] [[:D]]

  • So Rob.. tell us about the new stuff.

  • ...and tell us how much ram you have in those machines, 3 or 4 gigs?

  • Oh Christian - I don't think it would be good for your health. If you are like me - your head will explode cause you will not have it until tomorrow [:'(]

Just got through the perc. The simple way they are laid out and controlled in the VI is outstanding. You will see this. I have foot control pedals and just the simple SD (pedal up = snare on / pedal down = snare off). Very cool!!!

Of course there is a lot in there and will take a long time - in and around ongoing projects to get through it all.

DP - I have 3 gigs in each of them (not using the userva=2500 switch).

    Rob

  • Great news. I have got to give this a try.

Dave - you will no regret it. Aside from the new VI [[;)]] - this is the most amazing development in the last 2 years.

  • How do you reckon the VI (non-multi timpral) will handle the percussion in a template setting. I think i'll be loading alot of instances!

    What about the muted stuff?

I hope I can get the current non.vi peices i'm working on done my today/tommorow so I can make the full swap to VI.

  • Multi-Timpral is the ONLY I don't like.

I have 14 instances set up for the perc template alone. I am running Vstack and needed to pick up something like 'Chainer' or something like that.

Is anyone using Vstack and Chainer - good results?

    Rob

(muted stuff is everything you would expect - excellent, prestine)

  • The matrix "Drum & Percussions" offers the most important nonpitched percussion instruments and articulations mapped in one file:

    Snare drum
    Bass drum
    Tamburin
    Concert Toms
    Triangle
    Cymbal
    Piatti
    Tam
    and some FX sounds

you get these matrix dry or ambient (with concert stage placement) and a stacked version of both , where you can mix dry and ambient samples as you like in realtime using any controller of your choice.

More detailed information you'll findalso in the related pdf manual in our User Area/Vienna Instruments/Manuals section.

  • Yes I have seen this and maybe good for a template BUT - the individual matirixes (multi pitched, articulations) is so nice I just have to have them on board. [:D]
