    Hi. How are these done? Is it by crossfade into the recored sustains thus keeping the transitions, or? I'm wondering if there is any reason (besides ram) not to use the _4vel patches

    All perf-legs of the appassionata violins are done the same way.
    The only reason not to use the 4vel patch, is staying 100% timbre-compatible with the other perf-legs (tune, progressive etc), which only offers two velocities. (only an issue, if you use excessive switching between normal and special perf-legs)
