  • First Edition free updates?

    Hello,

I read somewhere on a forum awhile back that First Edition users will get some free updates when the Pro Edition is released. Is this true?

I just bought my VSL First Edition last week, and can't wait. [:D]

    Thanks.

    Will

  • Good to see you're on board Will. You've gotta few more 'colors' to paint with now - huh???

What updates are you referring to (I just got my copy a couple of weeks ago.)

All of the Library is great but I just cannot stop writing for the legato woodwinds. It's a treat to just 'play and create'. I find myself doing a lot less editing (compositionally) than before.

  • Heya Rob!

Yeah, so excited! Glad to be able to jump on the bandwagon...

Well, the updates I'm referring to were some minor tweaks on some of the current articulations/instruments, and seems like I remember that they were throwing in a few freebies to the First Edition users once the Pro Edition was released... errr, may it was a dream [8-)]

  • welcome aboard!

The VSL people don't make idle threats. I'm sure when it comes you will be pleased [:)]

  • The free DVD updates for registered users of the First Edition will be made available in the Fall, as soon as the EXS version of the Pro Edition will be finished, since these updates will include both formats. The updates will include, e.g., various looped sustains. Herb is on vacation this week. When he'll return, he'll post a list of instruments and articulations.

    All the best from Vienna,
    Martin

    Hi all!

That´s what Herb wrote regarding the free update DVDs:

    @Another User said:

Top on the list are the forte performance legati for trumpet and trombones ensembles, also range extensions for performance legati of violins and bassi, and looped versions of basic sustains and tremolos.

Thanks for the info - this is just what the Dr. ordered. I have been trying to make the Trumpets and bones (p) Legato work on a current project - while it certainly sounds good, the forte is 'just' what i need. Can't wait for fall.
