  • Synchrosoft Question..Please Advise...

Does a Syncrosoft USB Key only work for one thing? I have VSL on mine, and wanted to download a demo of a product that uses a USB key, but when I attempt to download the license I get the error "The wizard can not be started because other applications access the protection device."

I thought they were like iLOKS. Good grief, you have to have one for every product????

  • You have to shut down ALL your applications and restart your computer. Then the stupid LCC might just decide to work. What a piece of crap it is. Vienna and us users deserve better.

Wow. Thanks Bruce, I will give it a try. First iLOK, now this...

  • Wow, it worked. And now, upon launching Logic, I get an error saying the clarinets from VSL have an authorization problem. No device found.

What a bunch of junk this Synchrosoft thing is. Now what?

  • I have the Vi working in Logic 7.1.1 using the latest Synchrosoft update and the latest version of the VI (1.04 I think).
I've used the usb key for other libraries. It is a SAM Truestrike Key and I authorized
VSL and Brass from Arturia on it. Sychrosoft is a bad product though. It should not take so much of the OS to scan the way it does. That is a bad thing. But it does work.

Try the activate date license in the license wizard. It seems to need to do this a few times during the demo period.

  • Tom - If you're using a PC then the original message you got is caused by the fact that there is a little hidden program the VSL Daemon which runs even after you shut down your sequencer (e.g. Cubase).

This prevents you from using LCC to add new licences. You can as you did, reboot, or simply kill the process using Task Manager.

    Hi,

you can transfer licenses from one Syncrosoft Key to another and vice versa. Therefor you need to plug both keys to your computer and start the LCC. Go to -> wizards -> transfer license. To shut down the VSL server and VSL daemon before this you can also use the application activity monitor, mark the process name and choose quit process (it is to be found in applications -> utilities).

    Best,
