Hey Folks -
I figured out what was going wrong here: Christian, perhaps this is a bug?
When you start Logic Platinum (PC v. 5.5), it creates a file in the VST folder that looks alot like the files in the VST Instruments folder. The file is called Vienna Instruments, and it starts out as 1 kb. It associates as an MS Office Outlook configuration file, but that's just because XP doesn't know what to do with, or call it.
The solution: DELETE THIS FILE. Then VI VST loads as usual. You must do this every single time you start Logic, which is kind of a pain. But I'm happy! Don't ask me how I figured it out: It was luck, and stubborness. Mostly the former.
Oh, anyone else notice that VI VST EATS CPU when the full interface is open, but is much nicer when minimized.
Hope this helps,
Eric
