HELP!!!!

I have just lost two of my most important music folders. I did not delete them...and I dont understand why and how it has happened. Yes, there is something wrong with windows and I was just backing up to reinstall windows....

But...while every little file is there...the two most important folders have suddenly gone missing.

Is there any DATA recovery software that ANYONE can reccommend ASAP?

So that I can get one and recover the two folders...

vibrato, some basic informations ... is this an internal/external disk and is it partitioned, have the folders been on the same drive/partition as windows and do you know the filesystem the drive was/is partitioned?
have you system recovery turned on/off (XP only) and did you look into the recycle bin?
do you have an additional drive partition to install a *rescue*-windows?

i'll go through my records meanwhile for recovery tools
