At the moment I am dealing entirely with strings, so the velocity Xfade is very handy, particularly on legato instruments. However, for the staccatos I am finding that I would prefer not to use Xfade, but stick with velocity layers.
The problem is that I seem only to be able to have Xfade enabled or disabled on a global basis per instance, rather than on a matrix (or even patch) level. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
So, my thought is that as there are only two dynamic levels of legato instrument, would it work if I loaded them up as Cell 1 and 2 and used Cell Xfade instead? Would I be able to make each Cell non-responsive to velocity changes? Any thoughts on this or a better way of achieving what I want?
