    hello!, I´m very impressed by the VI video tutorial, and I think about purchase the Solo Strings, but I have two questions that I don´t understand in the videos:

    I have a 4-scales keyboard. Is it right to work live with Vienna , or I need a bigger keyboard?

    and

    if the keyboard isn´t working and I can´t write the score in realtime, how works the midi? I mean, in VSL each articulation had a different channel.Is in VI equal?

    ....yes, I never worked with samples and libraries ...

    Big questions you've asked!

    Firstly you say you've got a 4 scales keyboard (I assume 4 scales=4 octaves.)
    Does your keyboard have an octave change controller that enables you to 'shift' the octaves up and down? If so, then you have a good start.

    The articulation question is a good one too. The new VI, as the video clearly shows, can 'play' multiple articulations into the same MIDI channel. This is considered a big improvement on the previous method (which apllied to most sample libraries, not just VSL) of one articulation per midi channel, which usually meant multiple tracks in a sequencer for each instrument.

    What sort of sequencer or notation program do you use? This information would help in giving you a better idea of how to use the VI's, and better show their capabilities.

    yes, I want to say octaves, not scales [:P] , and yes, it can change the octaves

    ok, I recently bought an Apple G5 dual core 2.0 ghz, with 1,5 G RAM
    At this moment I have Cubase SE, but my desire is going to Digital Performer very soon, because for me Logic is very difficult

    In cubase SE,in a midi track ,you´d opened the list editor and had change the midi channels for each note, but in VI, with many articulations , how this works??

    You most definately want an 88key keyboard for live work. For sequencing its not needed, but its nice.
