  • Usb Key & authorizations -> still unclear for me

As I understand things I can authorize 'strings 1' VI on 1 key and 'strings 2' VI on another & brass on another etc..
Does this mean I can install all my VI content & applications on both my computers and decide on the fly which usb dongle to use on which machine depending on what VI I need to run on them.

In other words I boot & use a secondary machine when my first machine reaches it's CPU/Ram limits. But I would like to chose which dongle to use on which machine as my work & needs on the project progress, without having to reinstall the wole collection & application..

Sorry if this has been answered I didn't find it : )
    Thanx

    Charl

  • Hi Charl,

you can move your licenses from one key to another one any time, by connecting to Syncrosoft. If you have the whole content installed on both computers, thatĀ“s a possible way to go.
Remember, that you need internet access to move licenses.

  • thanx for that.

  • Paul,

are you happy that the licence transfer method will workas often as this?

I would be reticent to keep transferring licences.....it just feels "dodgy"

    You think no problem?

  • Hi Andy,

IĀ“m afraid I donĀ“t get the question... could you please rephrase that for me?

    Thanks, Paul

What I mean is transferring licences from one dongle to another on a regular and frequent basis.

Lets say I have all instruments installed on 3 PCs.
Would you be happy to say - ok I need more brass resources [on comp B]for this job, so I'll transfer the woodwind licences off that machine onto comp A.
Then tomorrow change back, etc. etc.

You think the licence setup is robust enough to withstand such activity?

    Different questions to you...
Could I transfer a Cubase [or Nunedo] licence onto the Vienny Key.

So far there, are ten licences on my Viennakey - 5 inst * 2 levels
Is there a finite no of licences allowed on 1 key?

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

  • Hi Andy,

that shouldnĀ“t be a problem, to move licenses, we havenĀ“t made hardcore tests yet....

And yes, you can transfer your Nuendo or Cubase license onto the Vienna Key, no problem! AFAIK, thereĀ“s no real license limit on a Key (well, maybe at 100 or so)..
