This has happened twice now. When loading a new instrument, I get a sudden prompt that says the following:
"Syncrosoft License Control -- Error. Application 'Vienna Instruments' has caused the following error: -> There is a USB communication problem. Please connect the protection device to another USB port.
"Options: - Click <OK> to abort."
Both times, I had been loading and playing without problems for a while. Both times happened when loading.
The worst part is, changing the key's USB port doesn't do anything. "OK" in the prompt is non-responsive. I can only Force Quit Logic -- Syncrosoft and the VI plug-in stay on screen. So it's a total beach ball crash, and I need to power down my entire computer to clear the screen.
I had one other crash while attempting to load, but there was no Syncrosoft prompt.
My Syncrosoft is on a USB hub. I'll put it directly into the G5 and see if this continues.
OSX 10.4.4, Logic 7.1.1, G4 1.8 dual. External LaCie 250GB hard drive for samples.
