  • How can you get a long sustained vibrato?

The violin with the strongest vibrato is the solo violin: VI_sV_espr_4s, but there's a loop and it's a bit, or a lot too obvious. So it's basically 2 sec long, not very long! Does anybody have any good tricks to sustain a good 4 to 6 seconds a strong vibrato? I tried overlapping them but the loop point is still very audible.

    Thanks [[;)]]

  • Guy,

Melodyne could be your new, best friend. The programs comes in several different levels and price points.

Go to the Celemony website, check out the demos. They have some good tutorials on a free DVD that they offer.

    Best regards,

    Jack

  • It's bow changing instead of a loop point I think. And yes it's normal to be this obvious especially when recorded close mic'ed. [[;)]] I would just take advantage of these bow changing moments and build loops on them.

    Frankie

Ah, of course, how silly of me, bow changes would make much more sense, I wouldn't think VSL would make loops that sloppy, and for solo violin that would even make more sense. Thanks. [:)]

  • The soloviolin sustains are looped?
Generally you have for the solostrings "performance repetitions-sustains".
These are the normal sustains, where you can trigger each original performed bowchange directly using the repetition tool or using directly the assigned keyswitches for the different.

For some reason I have never noticed this performance patch too! [[:|]]

    Thanks herb. [[;)]]
