  • Thank you Thierry!

    I've never seen a plan picture of an orchestra before. Very useful. It makes me see the instrument placement and distance setting exercise in a completely new light.

  • i give to you my personnal secret:

    Try the basic combination of strings instrument;
    EXPL: Violins

    If you have esx24 open the edit page and go to the pfp group.
    change the "select by" note to "select by control 1 (modulation)
    For the new open option, choice 60 and 127 to have the sound when you use the modulation up.
    if you don't see "select by" you have to choive view and select to see it

    At the up and left edit windows, save as " Alias v1 combination"
    Now open this sound and on the main exs windows on the rigth & down you have
    ENV 2 .
    Change it:

    A= 3575 for the up button and 221 for the down button (A= attack)
    R= 221 (R=release)

    Now on the up and right in option save the settieng for this instrument (overwrite it) to save this modification.

    Now you have a expressive violins ensemble but what is magic, is that this expressive violins are selected by the "sffz" key-switches.
    And when you put up the modulation, you have all the expressive and long note!!!

    Sfzz slowly become expresive.

    You can test and be happy with all the strings ensemble.
    If you like this,the other good think is that you have made a Alias so, this one use
    the same sound of your main combination track and don't use more Ram .So you can open the two one for just one ram consommation)
    But try it with all keyswitch and you will see that it can be a slow combi or a ppp combi specialy useful for the long note of celli or CB.

    I think a moderated velocity is good because the sffz played strong become agressive

    If you use exs manager , you can do the same from the file combi v1MRG file
    (and VA,VC,CB) because here we don't change the sound file but just the setting to read it

    What do you thing about this setting and what do you propose do make it better?

    v1, v2, alti, vc & cb

    The modulation up= long and pfp
    down= short
