    I just got epic horns and installed. I also have pro edition which I use the perf. tool with without problems. When I try to load in the legato perf. patch for epic horns, the tool gives me an error. "file type doesn't match - no loading..." I downloaded the latest perf tool 2.1.1 and all of the Pro and Epic horn presets and reinstalled and tried reactivating the tool. what am I doing wrong?

    Hi acoustech,

    you need to use the "HOR-Legato" in the Performance Tool for all legato instruments of our Horizon Series products.

    All I see in epic horns legato presets is:

    HO-8_perf_leg.pal and this one gives me the above error

    and All I see in the pro edition legato presets is

    :26 HO-perf-leg.pal

    :27 HO-4_perf-leg.pal

    where is this "HOR-Legato" performance patch?

    When you choose a Mode in your Performance Tool for a given MIDI channel, you see a list of Modes:

    Alternation
    Legato
    Repetition
    HOR-Legato (it´s this one!)
    GUIT Legato


    The HOR Legato lets you load the Epic Horns Legato Preset.

    Of course this only works after you have registered your Epic Horns and went through the activation routine.

    ahhhh!! got it, thanks, I didn't know they would show up there. so there is no need for the "HO-8_perf_leg.pal", why is it set up this way?

    The Horizon Series Legato uses a different mapping scheme, and the presets have the same functionality. It´s 1 preset per instrument.

    You need to set the Mode as Hor-legato and then load the "HO-8_perf_leg.pal" file.

    Currently there is only Horizon Epic Horns. However, as this content is included in SC (both Standard and Extended) the answer is yes, but I don't know how much extra content there is until the articulation list is published (which it already may be).
