    Does the speed control automatically adjust for the tempo of a track? It sounds like it does.

    So I set my slider and then the tempo of the track changes. I still want x note value to represent a playback style, do I have to move the slider or does the value interpreted by the VI depend on the current tempo and is adjusted for me since I don't want y note to also now be represented by this alternate playing style.

    Its kind of confusing in my mind.

    Hi Joseph,

    Speed control reacts to absolute tempo, not relative to a piece's BPM settings. If you have a piece at, let's say, 80 BPM and then step it up to 90, some notes could be played fast legato where there was slow legato before, or spiccato instead of staccato (depending on the speed control settings). Especially with more severe tempo changes, you would also have to readjust the speed control settings if you want to keep the originally intended samples - but on the other hand, it might then make sense to use the "speedier" articulation ...

    Okay. I can work with that though. I wonder if alternately at some point the Speed Control slider can be parameter automated so that it is constantly updated relative to tempo so that a set note value always represents the same thing irregardless of track tempo. I guess it could also be possible to lock the slider to the tempo with some sort of algorhythm.

    Its kind of hard to explain what I'm after, but I'll take it up with Christian off the forum.
