  • OK, I Surrendered...Anyone Else?

No matter what my gripes initially were.... a combination of listening to something I completed today, and another look at the videos for VSI...well...I went for it.

Ordered it today from ILIO. I am very excited and hope January will begin to fulfill my hopes for this package.

In the end, I believe VSL is on the leading edge in the world of sampling. And that's where I want my music to be. I don't have clients that will pay for real orchestras. So they will get the next best thing (and I shall make them pay![;)])

Anyway, anyone else who wants to chime in, please add to this if you took the plunge (I'll feel less alone!)

  • Herb,

Send my package before Tom's, right? [:P]

If he does, then you have to explain it to me after you get it and work through it...deal? [;)]

    Deal!

But once I receive it I expect to loose my sanity for a while [6] , so you may have to wait a bit. [[[:P]]] [[[:P]]]

  • As much complaing and whining that's I've done, I'm going to have to get the library. It's easier to use than using the library with the clunky performance tool. I just wonder why they don't have two seperate interfaces for 16 and 24 bit.

I guess that was the way to force you to get it....

  • Yeah, I've succumbed to the dark side, money eh? You can't take it with you....

Then again you can't take your VI VSTs but at least you got to own them [[;)]]

How did you order it from ILIO? On their website, I notice that they only have the basic SC listed, and not the extended libraries. If you want any extended libraries, do you have to call them by phone?

  • Lee, all the extended libraries, according to ILIO, must be unlocked one at a time as you go. So I ordered the only thing you can order, the Standard, and then when it arrives and each extended is available, you then pay for each unlock code as they come. Kind of odd. Also, ILIO said all the extended libraries are done thru VSL, not dealers.

Interesting. That must bum the dealers out.

Once you've the Standard Library you'll be able to either unlock the whole Extended Library of the respective collection with a code or, if you want to, single instruments of the collection.
We also plan to provide a code that unlocks the complete Extended Content of the Symphonic Cube at once.

    Best,

  • lee, we have to make sure our registered users will receive the discount they are eligible to. if a dealer decides to join our authorized dealer network we will open a route to allow also sale of an extended library through a dealer - deatails are in the works and not final yet.

ps: as a side effect this should also improve the standard of information and support through dealers because they can access additional information provided by VSL

and remember: only a CRAY can run an endless loop in just three seconds.
