will mir be fully compatabile with legacy products? or will you need the SC to take advantage of meta data?

I guess you would need SC.
Which is why I really hope it will be priced sensibly and with consideration to VIP customers. Could be an oppurtunity to make a few people happy again.

The version of the MIR we work on now has most certainly to be seen in close integration with the Vienna Instruments. Actually the Instruments were the precondition for the whole concept to make sense at all.
Most certainly there will be dedicated inputs for external submixes or solo-voices. Due to the need for meta-data these inputs will be limited to only a few stage-positions and will lack most of the more advanced possibilities.
That said, it is at least _possible_ that there could be a way to integrate other instruments via "ordinary" audio-streams, too, but this is nothing you should expect for Version 1.

Alright. Just asking since with the VI i would be rearanging my entire setup. So it would be nice to do that all at once. [:)]
I'l try not to quote you on it [:D]

I feel with you, Christian. Of couse it would be nice to have everything at once, now [:)] ... In the Real World some things have to be there to build others on the top of it.
See it that way: the later the MIR gets available, the faster computers will be - and you will be thankfull for that ... : [H]

Yeah. Its just now GigaPulse is my main convolution verb. So I'll have to look into something else while waiting for Mir.
