Interpreting the discussion I must decide, that Software Instruments seem not to be on the level needed for presenting string quartets properly. Pity ...
-
Well of course.
The day that string samples or virtual instruments surpass the finest string quartets in the world will be a sad day indeed.
Get real.
Clark
-
Yes indeed. But at the moment software instruments can't properly even mock up string quartert because of the fatal flaw.
The real string quartets do a lot of work for dedicing when to e.g. C sharp or D flat etc.
You can't do freely the selection with the software instruments I know. There are microtunings etc. but they work only globally. In ideal case it should be possible to use sequencer's e.g. matrix representation for "tuning" string quartet sounds.

The day a calculator can play a string quartor, is the day I exchange my wife with a inflatable women!
Well, it's very early in the morning, I excuse myself in advance for that one...

Angelo,
I'd have to get the dictionary out and watch this a few times to understand what your friend is saying, but i get the drift, so to speak.
The view behind him is spectacular... [:)]

No dictionary necessary! While you look into vast abysses of space and time... the abyss looks into you, or if you call into the forest, you will incur roaming charges not covered by your plan. I guess what Carlo wanted to express was: "The way you call into the forest, the way it will shout back at you" or "How you call into the forest, the echo will return", but since he is above the timber line (tree limit), he yells into the kettle and the kettle is replying.
Carlo: The way I call into the kettle, the way it has to shout back at you
Kettle: No never
Carlo: I said, as I call into the kettle, it has to shout back at you!
Kettle. I won't do that, forget it!
etc. approx. the same lines repeating in variations till the end of the video.

Robert,
you, making vacation in Switzerland every year, I thought you must be a multi millionaire. Already planed that I show you the best restaurants next time they drop you off the plane with a parachute over Geneva with a coke bottle in your hand, if not so, you may find a women at the Lake of Zürich, who can afford to marry a composer and part time gigolo.......
No, I haven't expanded my VSL library, still Opus I+II only. Of course I still use the older libraries like the Vitous, Siedlaczek, Ultimate Strings, and all the other creepy crap.
Just realized I never used a Pipe Organ in one of my works, so I'm listen to the organ demos.
Also ordered "Atsia - West African Dancing Drums" for the ballet "An Evening Without Angels", who has an african part in it.

Well In that case Angelo. I'm humbled. Thank you.
I've honestly been left behind in one of germany's airport, In 1964. They had to bring the airplane back. (true story) I don't think they like Mr. Bojangles very much. They keep trying to get rid of me. I'm also not allowed in Zurich's music Hug any longer. All I try to do is practice on the incredible hamburg steinway's. They seem to think its a national security risk. But thats true here in my home town also. They chase me around with fire trucks. The inflatable doll helps alot though. The next time I'm over Genieve, I'll get in touch, right before they throw me out the door. Thank you Angelo. I don't own the VI yet also. I guess that makes me a two cents millionaire. The music business, the only business that guarantees trouble. And 100% loss. The key is to stay working in seclution. Please keep the doll story quiet. That could ruin my reputation. Thanks.

Jail time is the fatuated issue absolutely. Thanks for the in depth focus william. Now we're on the same page. Let me tell you a stroke of luck I ran into. Ever sense I can remember, I've alway's gotten offers that one cannot refuse, if you know what I mean. You refuse and you get a knock on the door. Alway's working for others and never having anything to show for. In jail primarily as you put it. And then the darndest thing happened to me. I was in Oklahoma city one night when the federal building went up a few years back. And ever since then I've been out of jail. Never got any offers any more, out of jail, blacklisted for life. And the irony is I've written three books so far, with many lined up for future date. Have 4 to 5 CD's on the burner, almost completed. This has never been able to happen before. I can't believe it. I have the time to myself. Incredible. I can go nuts any time I wish. Watch this

Fantastic views, Mathis. I'm a big fan of mountain scenery, and it's my intention to end my days in alpine countryside, surrounded by such majesty.
Thanks for posting this.

Alex.
