    When I open Giga STudio 3.1, I can load instruments by going to file, open, and browsing for the appropriate folder, but the Instrument Loader Pane towards the bottom of the screen doesn't list any of my internal hard drives, only the DVD + DVD-R drives. Any ideas as to why?

    For clarity (though the following detail may confuse the issue!), the leftmost window in the Instrument Loader Pane shows a small icon of a computer next to which is written "Local Sampler". Beneath that,

    there are two small 'disk-drive' icons (D:\\ and E:\\ respectively), both saying "No CD" next to them.

    Shouldn't I expect to alos see there a list of my internal hard drives?

    Indeed, you should see all of your drives. The "no CD" message for C and D drives is concerning, and I have no insight.

    But a first diagnostic step would be: File / Gigastudio Settings / QuickSound / click "Rebuild entire QuickSound database now."

    You may look into "Advanced Settings" in that same panel and make sure all of your sample drives are checked.

    Thanks for your reply - I realised the second I read it that since my last reinstallation I hadn't compiled the Quick Sound database again!

    New problem though: when I try to run QuickSound, GigaStudio 3.1 crashes. Any thoughts?

    Does this possibly have something to do with the "No external hardware" box which I always keep unticked? I'm not sure what "No external hardware" means, and the manual doesn't help much, but when I tick it, Giga also crashes.

    I can run Cubase SX 3 from within Giga, load sounds and play them - all without any problem - even though "No external hardware" is unticked, but I just mention this as it's the only other situation when Giga crashes for me. Might they be related?
