    It's obvious that one is going to need a large Hard Drive; 120Gig to load the entire 16 bit library. How much larger will the 24 bit version be?
    what Hard Drives do you recommend or are any of the 120 Gig ATA 100 drives good enough for the job?

    Also- It is OK to spread out the Library on several GigaStudios. I use 4 now probably more soon. Its hard to decide before hand but I think it would be wise to have multiple setups so that everything is available at once and then one could set up 1 for Strings 1 for Brass 1 for Percussion etc. Arrangements and music are always changing. This is not an inxpensive way to do it. Perhaps several new 60 Gig Drives is a better idea? Are we allowed to install Multiple instances of the Library in our own studio? (not that I wouldn't anyway)

    Good question. I work on a Mac with Logic so I'm interested in the EXS24 version, but the same applies - will an ATA 7,200 rpm drive be okay or do we need a 10,000 rpm SCSI drive?

    Just thinking ahead and preparing.......

    PS - .......also. what about using an external FireWire drive or two?

    I´m working with EXS24 with ATA and Firewire disks for the samples and it works fine. No need to use SCSI.

    Hi all!

    The Pro Edition (24bit) will have approx. 210 GB, the faster the harddrives, the better. You´re of course allowed to use the Vienna Symphonic Library on as many computers as you like within YOUR Studio.

    Again: For now, the more computers the more "online" instruments are available, the more comfortable your work gets.

    Still, you can get very far with one computer, as we prepared layout instruments that provide you with the most important playing techniques and articulations. Simply trigger them by keyswitching and play your ideas for every intrument fast and intuitively until you got your layout arrangement, then do the "fine tuning" with all the additional articulations, then bounce the track and get to the next instrument....
