  • Until MIR, have you thought about Altiverb 5? It can really place VSL nicely with depth in a stereo field and by trimming tails will not eat a ton of processing power. this would be my prefered method.

  • Thanks Nick, that seems to work really well. I've just got the G5 & Logic7 running for
together for first time and Wow! how smooth is that??

What a difference compared with Logic 6 on the G4!

    VSL & G5 - made for eachother!

  • He has Space Designer already, but no question, Altiverb is a rawking phat dance groove mutha of a reverb piece of kit.

  • Blimey Nick - is all of issue 2 written in that patois...? [[:|]]

  • Is Altiverb a plugin and where's the best place to get it?

I've heard alot of the East West symphonic Orch. sounds and it would be cool to emulate that kind of reverb (different mike positions), with the VSL.

  • Altiverb is a convolution reverb plugin, and is produced by audioease (www.audioease.com). I imagine they have distributors in most countries, and they probably also have an online shop. It is available in RTAS, HTDM, VST and MAS, uses iLok authentication, and only runs on the Mac. It's currently at v5.

  • Reverb?

    Duh!!Sorry

    MIR project, of course!

  • I think VSL with Altiverb is a lot more refined than east wests placement techniques, MIR will be another world unto itself.

    tone,

Go to the audio ease sight as Nick suggested and listen to Maarten's demo (another VSL beta tester). You will then become familar with the the placement concept of Audio Eases Altiverb using VSL.
