    I don't see much of a difference in the two, except the grace note version just seems to have a better attack between notes.. is this the case? Is perf-leg_grace just more suitable for fast playing, where the perf-leg is not?

    It's exactly what you think it is for.. fast playing. it refers to 'grace notes', usually a sucession of 3-4 really quick notes (almost like a glissando) before a phrase or measure. The perf legato is more for slow melodic transistions. [:)]
