    Besides the upcoming MIR. I don't think I want to get another machine just yet, because then I would be tempted to get Gigastudio and the Performance Set, and my wallet just can't handle that.

    So what is the best reverb for PC, what comes closest to Altiverb? I have Kontakt 1.5 and I'm thinking of upgrading to 2, does that have decent IR?

    Kontakt 2 has awesome convolution. It's awesome. Awesome.

    That does help! How intuitive is it? For instance, is it similiar to Altiverb where you can assign placement of instruments on the stage, or do you have to set that up yourself?

    Um, I'll explain as much as i know. Actually, and example would be best. I'll throw together 2 renditions of the same line, with and without K2's convolution. Is there any particular instrument you'd like to hear?

    What I'm mostly interested in is the sound of the percussion and horns, mostly snares, bass drum, timpani, and the entire brass section, I'd like to get that "from behind" sound....

    In my playing days, W/W and Brass were considered to be in the 'rear of the Orchestra.'

    So i guess you're looking for that 'at the rear sound.'

    I guess it's fitting that the percussion and brass are the instruments most capable of imitating flatulence.

    violconv1.mp3 [with convolution, type 1]
    violconv3.mp3 [with convolution, type 3]
    violconv4.mp3 [with convolution, type 4]

    K2 comes with special convolution files for string orchestral instruments. There's no type 2, for some reason. *shrugs*
