Performance tool suggestion

Is it possible to make the mode of the performance tool, i.e. Thru, Legato etc., MIDI controllable?
As it is I can't have an instrument per track if I want to use different modes. I have to put the legato stuff on one channel, alternation stuff on another, etc. If the Performance tool mode were MIDI controllable, I could just send a message to it along with the patch change whenever I change to a patch where I want a different mode. That way everything for one instrument would be on one track.

Well I've been using the tool now (I made the above suggestion just after getting the performance set) and it's not really that bad using separate tracks for separate modes. It keeps things easy to see, since each track is a different color. I guess since nobody's responded it's not such a popular idea anyway. Of course more options never hurt though.

Herb, do you have any comments on the next version of the performance tool?

a style display for the alternation mode - no digits - real expression names,

generally a new GUI, and some new features.

Sounds good!
The style display is obviously an improvement over a bunch of numbers. I suppose you load a style file for the instrument, which has all the names of the key switches?
