    hi,

    Why not have a space on this site for download for user some file as modele song for logic and exs or/and other;
    I mean it may be very simple for new user like me and the vsl user won't need to repeat the same think every time.
    expl: pan for orchertra,choice of preset and using for space designer (or other) etc..i think about stéréotype and user will personnalise if they want but it should be a real help to use immediately vsl library without make creasy 3 mouth to find how panning, treating ....

    The idea is great, yet we hesitate to do so.

    The main problem is: What fits _my_ needs doesn't necessarily be what _you_ want to hear. There are countless ways to arrange an orchestra or an ensemble - not only musically, but also spatially (the relation of the players to each other and to the listener). Then there is the question of compatibility; many people have their favorite tools for certain occasions, like the Waves S-1 for panning. Using just the standard tools wouldn't give you the full picture. And the list goes on.

    But above all, there is the danger of being misunderstood by users: If we offer such templates, they would carry the stamp "official" on them, and users would expect them to be a "preset" which has to work "out of the box", so to speak. And here we come back to the problem I described above: there simply is no perfect basic setup for everybody, so the possibility of unnecessary frustrations is big.

    As an alternative, I could imagine a user-created exchange-site which we would anounce on our site and link to it from here. Any takers ...?

    i see but per definition, a musicien who don't like a "stréréotype" configuration is a personne who know how to do an other one;
    My préocupation is for personne like me who don't know the sound an mix traitment and so a basic configuration will be better than a personnal one if we don't know how to do.
    In fact my first préocupation is to compose and ear the result, not to mix and look for a special personnal configuration;
    If i have one classical configuration permetting to pass time for the music , i will be really happy.
    If i have taken the VSL products is for the quality of the sound how don't need correction , so i think just a basic config will permet to have a good sound.

    I have an awesome file that I set up which gives I think 32 channels of rewire, 63 EXS channels, 32 audio channels (in stereo) and 8 busses for each grouping (ie 8 buses for instruments, 8 for audio, 8 for rewire, plus a sub bus for each bus grouping, all set up. the problem is that after I spent 2 hours setting this up in the environment, saved it, it wouldn't reopen, crashes logic if I try to open it. I think I put too much on there. [:(] Anyway I'll upload it because maybe some people will have a system powerful enough to use it (and if they do maybe they could deactivate the EXS instances that I preloaded and send me another version of the file so *I* might get to use it too...

    If anyone is interested let me know and I'll upload it.
