Here are a few of my works [[:)]]

    - Opus 1
    - Wind Band
    - Opus 1 Action
    - Mustafar

    Enjoy Them! [[:)]]

P.S. Anyone know how to submit works to the User Area? o_O

  • JC, I like your action piece. Nice variety of playing effects. Some of it reminds me of Giacchino's The Incredibles action writing. Part of me likes the sparsness of the sections, but the other part of me wishes you'd employ a bit more contrapuntal techniques.

Was this track done all on Opus 1? It sounds BIG. I think this is a well done track.

    Yup, all Opus 1 [:)]

  • Sounds excellent... I always like to hear some sample work from any new user of a product before I buy it. Long time user knows already what their doing, so it just proves that this product is no BS compare to any other library
Now I would like to get my Opus bundle too or just max out the cc & get the pro Orchestral cube [:)]

  • OPus 1 piece: wonderful. Mysterious, omnious. Almost sounds like a main title to a thriller like Red Dragon or something. A bit Elfmanesque in orchestration, but still different enough.
This is a track that really gets me craving for more!

  • Wind Band: doesn't really do it for me. I like the composition, but the counterpoint follows the main voice a littlebit too much. Just my opinion. Doesn't matter if you're John Williams (listen to The Battle of the Heroes from the latest Star Wars) or an old master or a fellow VSL user - if one does this sort of counterpoint, I'm quite dissapointed.

  • Action: COOL! Indeed, some passages recall TheIncredibles. But these are just moments. I think it has a great build up, some very cool brass motives and a nice orchestration.
One thing I'm wishing for is some greater rhythmical drive, which would make it more 'playful' and add suspense.

Best part is the first one and a half minute.
Also, I'm very fond of percussion, and I like hearing the tam tam and thundersheet!

  • Mustafar: short, omnious, foreboding. Is has a classical vein to it, in its sound. The tam tam noises get a bit redundant from the loud scrapes from 44 secs. Maybe a bit too loud in the mix.
Also, perhaps some extra layer to get more 'drive' could be a nice addition.

All in all, I'm an immediate fan of your Opus cue, and like the action one also very much. Great work!

  • Thanks [:)]

Do the guys here add any old user created tracks to the User-Demos Section.. Just wondering? It would be nice to have my work featured somewhere =)

    Thanks =P

    Here's something new [:)] ... Comments?

    - Heart Thump

    Thanks [:P]

  • I like the heart beat, i'm just listening it from my phones. Did you made that sound design or is it a bass drum from opus?
    jacKuLl

  • Heart Thumb: nice ambient effort. Just last week I worked on something in a similar vein (see thread about My First REAL score in orch/composing department), including a piece imitating a heartbeat (but with plate bells).

I like this sort of things. Like to write 'em too! ... [[;)]]
I only feel that the heartbeats fade away too quickly in the end passage.
And the shocker needs something really shrieking (high frequencies - volume is at its ceiling).

I know what you mean about the shocker --- there are some high stac-1 flutes in there but I turned 'em down a little cos they didn't sound as great as I had imagined I guess..
