Wow, you've been working hard on this. I couldn't do a direct comparison to your first mix, as it's obviously been replaced by the new one, but I can now hear where the piece is going. Having initially identified little wrong with the mix, I can now hear the lead voices more prominently which has really helped.
I almost asked before if the parts where created from a scoring program, it really sounded like it, but the 'mechanical' feel of the original post has also been improved somewhat. I'd still like to hear more 'ramping' of the tempo in places to create a more conducted performance, but this could screw up your articulations now.
IMO the strings are the biggest problem at this stage. There are still a few places where they are mixed too loud when playing a supporting role, therefore masking or muddying the melody. I think they would also benefit from being layered with the Solo or Chamber strings for a more gritty, zingy, lively sound, but maybe you don't have access to these - perhaps take a look at the EQ again?
Much improved all round though, it was worth the effort! [:)]
And I really didn't mean to sound so negative in my first post (I've just read it again) it's just the way it comes out sometimes [:O]ops: - it's always much easier to find fault with something than to pinpoint what's good, sorry!
