Well being a newb, I prefer not to make any incorrect assessments based on inexperience. I prefer not to think it can, when it really can't and then perhaps be past any return date. I mean in the end its probably not a deal breaker, but I am shopping after all. Thx tho, I was aware of there gracious product return policy.
duality strings is 2 orchestras recorded on the same time, room A and room B , and have exactly your sound , cinematic one , at list that's what you looking for from your question. basses and celos in the middle ( as far as I know zimmer strings have that combo ). you can make it happen , duality have lots of mics being used , near one on sychron stage plus the dry one on studio B. once you break the rules on orchestral position , there are no more rules on the sound. I did try to change positions and as far as I can hear , every thing sounds good, even with ambient mics, if that was your real question. I hope I did understand you well

Yes, the ability to change positions from that of the recorded positions without detriment. In the end, I would assume getting any string instrument in duality to be in stereo, but sitting in the middle of the stereo image, would be all that is needed. Then panning and placement in like Mir 3D would be doable without detriment, but this was an assumption and the reason for the post...Thx

In short, yes, you can do that inside the Synchron Player. You could use the panning on the master channel strip to move the basses and cellos into the middle. Just a warning: Our mixes (including every mic position) are meticulously adjusted for the seating. So, you might have to balance and re-adjust specific parameters reflecting your "new seating."
One more note: Synchron Libraries are not meant to be placed inside MIR Pro 3D. Makes no sense. MIR uses dry, close-up stereo signals (like the Studio Series).

Yes, was just reading about that last night on VI, I think, about the MIR usage with Synchron. Thanks for explaining, and confirming, the process for moving Bass or Cello is possible and acceptable from the means of its original recording and the player process involved.

The individual instruments or ensembles (violin) are recorded with different microphones. For example: ‘Close’, ‘Mid’, ‘Decca’ or many more. All these microphone channels contain a panner. VSL provides various presets in which the respective panners of all microphone signals are matched to each other in such a way that the classic set-up is created at the end.
VSL is known for its great flexibility. If you want the 2nd violin on the right, for example, you either turn the respective panners to the other side, or you add a channel inverse effect to the output channel of the second violin (still in the SYNCHRON player) and the 2nd violin plays on the right.
If you want a completely neutral starting position instead of a VSL preset, you can also select the ‘DEFAULT’ preset, which gives you the respective instrument without any effect or panning. This allows you to set any desired sound at any position in the room from scratch. So you have every possibility.
Here is a video showing the panning in the SYNCHRON player. This will give you an idea of how it works. It's best to get a licence to try out the Duality strings.
