  • How to save/preserve instrument window size??

Hello! I can't seem to get an answer on this. Does anyone know if it's possible to "save" the working Instrument GUI size in the VEPro window? Thanks in advance!!

  • With questions like this, it'd be nice to see VSL weigh in a bit more quickly. The more general the question, the more likely it is that others have wondered the same thing.

There is no way to save the sizing of the instrument pane in VEP by itself. More specifically, there is no way to copy the layout and save it to another channel set. (I repeatedly discover that this cannot be done.)

Yes, you can save the array of windows (mixer, automation mapping, instrument, etc.) using "Save Default Window Layout." But you cannot save the Instrument pane's zoom settings or window borders within that array. Perhaps VSL does this because channels with a lot of slots can get squished, and for an optimal visual, each channel is its own little world.

I do observe that saving instances attached to a track within a Logic file will reopen with all previous window settings intact.

Over the years, I have come to save all Instrument panes to an identical location, zoom and border design. I do not like jumping borders and slot heights when I am jumping from channel to channel (much less instance to instance).

Another preferred setting: I toggle the Mixer with a dedicated mouse button (using Steermouse) that triggers F3. Seeing the Mixer is vital... until it's not -- at which time, it takes up precious screen space. VEP's ability to toggle it quickly is welcome.
