  • Trouble starting Vienna Ensemble Pro 7

    Hello I have some trouble starting Vienna Ensemble Pro 7.

    I registered everything on my Ilok, that worked fine.

    I installed the whole thing via the installer and installed the synchron player as well.

    And now when I want to open it, for a brief moment there is opening a window, saying it is initializing. And then it stops. I attached that one. I tried reinstalling it. running it as administrator, making an exeption for windows defender. Rebooting my system etc. That did not help. So I have no idea what to do^^ Hopefully someone can help me. I want to use it as a server host for other libraries. Maybe I am just overlooking something obvious.

    My system:

    Processor AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor 4.70 GHz
    RAM 128 GB
    System 64-Bit / Windows 11 Professionol


    I use Cubase 14 Pro as DAW and the SSL 2 + Mk2 as Audiointerface.


  • Some other things I tried now were downgrading to every version of VSL7 before , and changing the audio driver to the standart realtek driver and a complete reinstall (uninstall reboot, install, reboot) Still without success 😕 In the logs I get this message for each try to start it: 2025-02-10 18:11:30.675 INFO [22780][VESplashScreen::updateMessage@94] VESplashScreen: Initializing...

    It just shuts down without any error message. Never had that happened with any software.

  • Hi @MarvinKopp,

    There was a bug in new Ryzen chips that caused issues with all iLok-protected software. Please install the latest BIOS update and the latest version of iLok License Manager.

    Is there any solution for this issue?

    I have AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16 core 4.3 ghz, 64 Gbit RAM and windows 11pro 24H2

    latest version of Ilok license manager.

    I'm experiencing exact same problem as MarvinKopp mentioned above.


  • Please update to the latest BIOS version as the mentioned CPU has a bug that was fixed with the update.
