  • Vienna Ensemble Pro crashes when scanning plugins

    Hello,

    Just today I loaded Sibelius using VSL on a project I have been working on for weeks. It was fine a couple of days ago and nothing has changed that I can tell.

    I am on Mac (Ventura)

    As it loads Vienna Ensemble 7 red exclamation marks appear above each instrument (none have in fact loaded) and then a scan of plugins occurs (why?). It reports a problem with one plugin and then the scan crashes. No instruments ever load and I cannot add any new ones either. In short, I can play nothing and the whole system fails.

    When I click on the red exclamation mark and then double click on the instrument plugin it says: Cannot load instrument plugin (see attachment).

    I updated to the latest version of Ensemble as was being prompted to endlessly but that did not help. A long error report is generated when the plugin scan crashes. It is incomprehensible to me.

    What has happened? Please help since as it stands my VSL setup has totally and suddenly failed.

    Btw I tried reset and re-scanning plugins in preferences and that fails - it crashes. I wonder if it is the failed plugin that is causing the problem (though it has been installed for months)? The initial error message says it has been disabled though, then the crash occurs almost instantly

    Please create a support file in Vienna Assistant (Cmd-S) and send it to support@vsl.co.at, so we can better look into this!
