  • Tuning System?

    Hello,

The manual mentions a Tuning System, however after searching through the software I have not been able to find it. On one of the screenshots I did notice a tuning icon that is not showing in my software.

Turns out the feature is yet to be implemented and is taking longer than expected? I'm sure you're very busy, but will this feature come out any time soon?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

Indeed, we are getting very close, and it took longer than expected.

Will be worth the wait 👍!

  • Wonderful, looking forward to it!

  • It's here, finally!

I'm trying it in Dorico, and I'm not sure how the best way to use it.

    • The setting for Synchron Player can't be done in the plugin opening in Dorico, so I'm doing it in the standalone player, hoping the changes are reflected into the plugin.
    • I'm leaving all the MTS options disabled, since Dorico should transmit VST3 detune messages.
    • If I leave the Microtonality option to Auto, in a Dorico expression map, nothing happens.
    • If I set it on Detune, microtonal accidentals work fine, and I can see the detune value in cents in the Synchron Player's virtual keyboard. I assume that I should set Detune as the setting in all Dorico expression maps.

This thing makes using virtual instruments go on another level. This is another of the big issues that gets finally resolved, and in a brilliant way! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • I see what I discovered is already covered by the Synchron Player manual. Sorry, I hadn't yet read that part.

I can only add that with a VST3 plugin the automatic sensing doesn't seem to happen. Maybe it's something to be set on Steinberg's side?
