  • Vienna Suite AAX plugins not showing up in Protools

I know these plugins are not native, but they work in Logic Pro 11 on a Mac mini with Sonoma 14.7.2. There are many AAX plugins in the AVID plugin folder from different companies, also those from the Vienna Suite, but in the actual DAW all those from other companies show up and work, but those from Vienna do not show up.

  • As far as I know, Logic's built-in AU Hosting Compatibility Service will take care for non-native AU plug-ins automatically. ProTools doesn't offer a comparable service for AAX, that's why legacy Vienna Suite (i.e. non-Pro) doesn't show up in native mode.

  • Thanks Dietz, but why do you then have AAX versions at all if you know they are not going to work?

Because they still work in other environments, of course. 😊

  • AAX only works with Protools as far as I know. Do you mean Intel vs Silicon?

Yes, exactly. Legacy Vienna Suite AAX is supposed to work in ProTools under Windows, on Intel-Macs and with Rosetta.
