  • VEP7 Kontakt instances no longer working after moving Kontakt libraries to new external disk

Please help! I moved my Kontakt sample libraries from old external disk to a new one because I was running out of space on the old disk. I changed the path to all the libraries in Kontalkt and I can successfully use them in Kontakt. However when I open my existing VEP7 projects, every single instance of Kontakt is no longer working because it is expecting to see the Kontakt libraries on the old disk.

This seems strange to me because all the libraries are available and working in Kontakt outside VEP7 after moving them to the new disk. So why is the same version of Kontakt in my VEP7 projects still expecting the old path to the libraries?

I have around 50 VEP7 projects, each with around 20 Kontakt instances, each instance with 4-16 instruments. I am hoping I do not have to unload each of these 5-10 thousand instruments one by one and reload new ones in VEP7? Surely VEP7 does not expect us to never change our disks holding Kontakt libraries, for example what if the disk goes faulty?

Would really appreciate any guidance because all my tracks in all my Logic Pro projects are using VEP7 instances, so I have lost access to all my past and present music! Is there somewhere in VEP7 where I need to specify the path for the new external disk holding my Kontakt libraries? or some other setting or refresh I need to do?

  • Update: Crisis averted!

If you click on any of the existing Kontakt instances in the VEP7 project, a window opens saying the libraries are missing and there is a ;Browse For Folder button'. If you click on it and choose the new location of the libraries, it does a long search and restores the correct path for all Kontakt instruments. You only need to do it once for each VEP project and then save the project.
