  • Ghost Note invisible (and not working)

    Hullo all!
Just updated all my OPUS 1 art files, and have finally gotten around to playing around with the Peformance Tool. Incredible. Simply amazing. I am more than happy with it.
However, I have a problem here. I can't find my ghost note to mute the first tone. PT says that C1 is my ghost note, and I've tried every "C" on my keyboard. Nothing works. Looked at the Keyboard palette in Giga3 and couldn't find it there either.
    Help, people!!???

    ~Chris

  • Hi Galledrim,

on an 88 keys keyboard (middleC = C4), it´s the lowest C on the keyboard for the instruments in the higher range (liek the Violin ensemble) and it is there for sure!

Depending on your sequencer, it might be transposed, as some sequencers transpose the range 1 octave up or down, depending on the continent..... In Cubase, "our C1" is "C0".

I´m sure you found it by now....

    Enjoy!

    Best wishes, Paul

Hmmm . . . still can't find it. I'm not even using a sequencer right now. Just the keyboard and Giga3 with PerfTool. I've hit all the C's on the keyboard and it makes no difference.
I am using Maple Tools (instead of the VSL MIDI Router) as my soft MIDI interface. Would that make a difference? Also I only have a 76-key keyboard. However in PerfTool I've tried to raise the ghost note by one octave and still no luck.

  • Hi,

try to raise it one more octave (with the strings).

I assume you know what it is supposed to do: As long as you hold it, you shouldn´t hear a note of a Performance Legato program (that´s, of course, with the Performance Tool active).

    HTH.

    Hi!
Found it. Had to redo my whole routing setup, but it works now. I guess it has to go through a sequencer? Thanks for the help!

    ~Chris

  • Hi Chris,

    no, the sequencer doesn´t matter at all, a C1 is a C1 is a C1....

    Glad it works!

Yes, I suppose . . . but how can I route my MIDI controller into VSL Router and then into PerfTool and then to GIGA without my sequncer open?

    ~Chris

  • Hi again,

you don´t need the VSL MIDI Router in this setup. Simply assign the MIDI Port that receives MIDI from your keyboard to the InPort in the Performance Tool (just as you would pick a specific MIDI InPort in your sequenser). That´s it.
