Hi VSL Synchron Forum:
I recently purchased the Solo Violin – what a beautiful sound! I like to say, “you can hear the wood.” I started working with the Solo Violin and its VSL Cubase expression map. I found there were a lot of redundant and duplicate entries in the expression map and by eliminating them I was able to get the number of entries from 887 down to 354. I also added color-coding and descriptive names to my streamlined expression map.
Then I made a video describing the workflow I use with the streamlined map. It includes information on how to install and use it in Cubase, a tour of the map, how the articulation lanes work and a section on Cubase automation lanes which I use to dynamically move the Synchron faders in real time. I finished with an example of the workflow described in the video which I used to recreate a few phrases from the beautiful “Lament of the Wandering Violin.” Here’s a link to the video (links to the streamlined expression map and other links are in the video description). Thanks.
