  • Unwanted Synchron Player Volume Changes

    Hi All

I created a simple Score with one Synchronized Instrument (Cello), playing a Single Tied Note over several bars. I assigned a ppp Volume to this note

When I press Play, the note goes from Inaudible to Rock Concert Volume over 8 bars, and then back to Barely Audible over the subsequent 8 bars.

Does anybody know how I can stop this ?????

Any assistance would be very very much appreciated ... the stress of losing VI, and having to deal with this kind of issue is becoming overwhelming.

    Help Please

    Dave W

  • Without knowing which DAW/Notation program you are using it’s a bit hard to be detailed. But look for changes in MIDI CC’s7 and 11 and check for any automation of gain, volume & expression.

  • Thank you very much for your reply rAC

I never change any of the default Notation (Mac Finale v27.4), or DAW (Mac Cubase 13 and Dorico 5) settings; Also I do not use any User Automation. I am using all of my efforts to study Composition and Orchestration, with minimal tech diversions.

I know that if I do not assign a Dynamic setting (f / pp / etc.), Playback is normal (very minimal crescendo / decrescendo effect). However, that is obviously not a practical solution.

PS I have been looking for 2 ways to deal with this issue ...

1st And Most Preferred ... Attach the score to a NEW VI Server Project with 3 New VI Instances as outlined in my separate Post, but I have been unable (in previous posts) to get guidance on how to do this.

2nd ... Eliminate (or greatly reduce) the Cresc / Decresc effect.

    Thanks again for any suggestions.

  • Have you checked in Notation, Cubase and Dorico that there are no MIDI CC11 or 7 messages ?
