  • Sample offset?

What is the difference between start offset and start offset attack?

I use VSL for metal...the drums are 200 BPM and tight...this section has brass -> trumpets sfz articulation.
VSL is always a bit late...how should I set the VSL offset so VSL is in time? I use VSTis for drums, bass and all other instruments apart from real guitars and vocals.

The offset for a different VSTi is 125ms, but I cannot set VSL to it as it only supports up to 50 ms.

    What settings should I use?

  • In your case you should set a negative track offset in your DAW instead. Check your DAWs manual on where to set this.

  • The problem is that I use Cakewalk Sonar Professional (now Cakewalk by Bandlab). It does not have this function...there were some requests in 2022, but it still does not seem to work.

What is the difference between start offset and start offset attack?

From ear, the 200 BPM section is the only one with the problem...all other parts (the slower ones) are ok...maybe I should move the midi notes a bit?
