  • Solo violin passage --volume not changing based on expression marks -

After copy/pasting a section of music from one staff to another (viola to violin), the violin passage volume will not change, despite changing dynamic markings, deleting and manually re---adding, etc...

The rest of the score is fine!

Bizarre! It's like the staff itself has hidden markings....

    Any ideas??

  • Hello Rich2265!

Just a guess. Maybe you have loaded a different kind of preset (Vel XF sus, VelXF, Velocity) for the viola than for the violin. Dynamics can only react in the same way, when the way of controlling dynamics is the same.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Andi--

Thanks. The strange thing is, this is just a phrase---not a whole part.

Would that pertain? And even after I delete and MANUALLY read the violin part? Is the background staff somehow then tagged for the original (viola) dynamics?

  • Hi Rich!

Please check which MIDI data your DAW or notation project sends for dynamics and what is set up in Synchron Player to control dynamics.
Dynamics get controlled by "Note On Velocity" in the "Velocity" presets.
Dynamics get controlled by CC1 in the "VelXF" presets.
Short note dyanmics get controlled by "Note On Velocity" and long note dynamics get controlled by CC1 in the "VelXF sus" presets.

    Best,
    Andi

  • ok--

Totally possible the Velxf sus was not enabled....

    thx

  • Fixed.

To be honest, it seemed like the cc1 vel sus was stuck.

    I "messed with it".
