  • Server doesn't show in list for connect

Re: [VE Pro Sever doesn't show - have to connect by IP address](/topic/60963/ve-pro-sever-doesn-t-show-have-to-connect-by-ip-address)

    Hi VSL team,

I am new to VE Pro so there might be something I havent try. I am running a M1 Mac with Ventura 13.5 as master and a Windows 11 PC both with the latest version VE Pro. Server is connecting to router using Ethernet cable and master using WIFI.

VE Pro works fine with localhost on both machine, but it won't show the server in VE Pro plugin list through internet. Not sure if this would help but I can see the server in the VE Pro Audio input plugin. And it will work if I type in the server IP address, with 20ms latency.

I've set both machine to static IP and turn off the Firewall on my Mac, set up the TCP and UDP on PC, but still not working.

Anything else I can do? Thanks.

    All best,

    Jun

  • Hi Jun!

Make sure Bonjour service is running on your Windows 11 PC and also that the network is set to private.

    • Open Settings
    • Click on Network & Internet
    • Ethernet
    • Under "Network profile type" select Private

Windows is blocking discovery in public networks for privacy and security reasons.

    Best, Ben

Hi Ben, thank you for your advice.

I did not have Bonjour service running on my PC (probably deleted it at some point), but after I installed it, now I can not even use it by typing in IPs. And my network is set to private.

    Anything else I can try?

  • Edit: It is now working using hand-type IPs. Still not showing on the list.

  • Update: now nothing showing in audio input list, so nothing automatic, have to do everything it by hand.
