  • Need help for mics setup Fazioli F212

    Hello, community,

Does anyone have a good grasp on setting up microphones similar to the ones used on this piece by Maxence Cyrin? I find the Fazioli F212 perfect for this piece, but I can’t seem to adjust the microphones to get a stereo sound as close as this one! Thank you so much ☺️

  • I think the recording uses close mics and lets the reverb do the job for the room. The bass notes appear to be more direct with less reverb. Very intimate with a long reverb on the higer notes.

Well I'm not really experienced in designing pianosounds. But how about something like this?

    Download "Fazioli 212 3 FX.vsynpreset"

It's not spot on. But maybe that could be the direction.

I've put a high pass filter in front of the reverb. That way the bass notes are bit less muddy and more intimate.

I found that some very light chorus on the close condenser mics was nice.

I usually use the reverb-plugins within my daw (Cubase). But the reverb in the players is not really bad.

Hey! Thank you very much! Indeed, this seems to be the right path! A huge thank you again!
