I'm having a new issue regarding playing back a fairly large VSL Ensemble. I have loaded about 7.5 GB of instruments; winds, brass, percussion and strings as well as the entire Vienna Choir.

Upon playback when opening VE Pro 7 there's a moment in the sequence where a double-bass note is "missed", it just won't play. When I start the sequence again from the beginning, there's no issue and no issues for the entire length of that session. But the next day when I turn on the computers and start playback, the same thing happens, one particular note in the double basses doesn't play and when I "rewind" and play the sequence again it's fine for the rest of the session.

I tried upping buffers to 512 and increased the MIR Pro buffers to 1024. But this doesn't fix the issue. VSL resides on a dedicated machine, my DAW (Cakewalk) is on its own machine and sends MIDI data via ethernet , rerturning audio through ADAT.

Any suggestions as to what I can try to eliminate this?

    Thanks,

    Jerry

  • A number of things come to mind but most likely:

The Articulation hasn't pre-loaded and the Samples are missing momentarily ?
