  • Multiple '127.0.0.1' hosts seen on LAN causing connection error

We have 3 Macs on Monterey 12.7.4 running Pro Tools 2023.12 and the latest iLok version of VEP7. They are all connected to the LAN. For some reason, all of the VEP localhost (127.0.0.1) connections are being advertised across the network. I have not seen this before. localhost is supposed to be just that – local. It is not showing the LAN IP of the other computers, which is OK (but odd) because we don't want to connect to those anyway. We only want to connect to localhost instances on each machine.

When we try to connect to more than one instance on the current machine's localhost, we get the following error:

I have not tried anything like modifying the /etc/hosts file yet, mainly because I'm not sure exactly why VEP is advertising localhost instances across the network or how to block either the transmission or reception. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to resolve this?

    Thanks!
