    Hi,

    I am brand new to VEP7 and this forum. I am trying to get VEP7 setup on a dedicated Windows 11 server that I have setup to host all my sample libraries. My primary workstation is a Mac and my DAW is Logic X/Dorico/Finale on Mac.

    So I have a bunch of Sample Libraries installed on my new Windows 11 server such as East West Opus and their various other libraries, Kontackt Player and their various libraries, Aaron Venture Infinite Brass/Strings/Woodwinds, Cinematic Studio Strings etc..., Arturia's Collection of Synths, and more.

    The problem I am having is that VEP7 can't find a single library except for MIR or their own Vienna Instruments Pro player. I went into the preference settings and into the instrument plugins and added every folder I could possibly think of where the scan might find the VST and no dice! Nothing! The scanning feature seems completely broken to me as it takes forever, can't be stopped, makes the whole program unresponsive and then in the end after waiting ages it comes up with nothing. So dissapointing!

    After adding every single folder in both Program folders, it did finally find some of the Aurturia plugins, however the entire VST dropdown was greyed out and it was put under "unknown" and when I tried to click on the checkbox to activate those "unknown" plugins it wouldn't work. This is very frustrating of a first time user. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi! You ordered your products in early 2021 when VSL used eLicenser. Since then VSL switched to iLOK. You are using an old legacy version of VE Pro. Please consider switching to iLOK. You will receive fresh licenses, software, and sample content:

    Ok thanks!

    I had some hiccups with uninstalling all of the Vienna programs and reinstalling the Assistant. The Windows uninstall App removed the programs but then it was still running in Windows after uninstall. I ended up having to force quit everything in Windows Activity Monitor to then install Vienna Assistant. Now I am downloading all the new versions through the Assistant. So things seem to be working now. I will let you know once everything is installed if it works and VEP can now see my plugins or not.

    Ok VEP7 is now recognizing my plugins on the windows server. Now I need to get it to show up in Logic X on the Mac. I opened a new project in Logic, added a software instrument, swapped it for Vienna Ensemble Pro, and a plugin window pops up saying "Server Instances" but none are listed. I tried typing in the IP address for my windows server but that didn't work. So it's not seeing the server for some reason.

    I am getting an "Activation is required" iLok Popup Screen when I try to launch a Logic X session on my Mac that has the VEP7 instruments. Is this normal? Do I need to purchase two licenses, one for my Mac to run it in Logic and one for my server that hosts the VEP server? This is acting like Malware because it won't let me open Logic X! And it makes me really want to uninstall every Vienna software I own and never buy anything from them again.
