Re: VEP 7 - server connections not showing
I have been using VEPro for years and have to say it's one of the most stable platforms I use and I mean in the field scoring hundreds of hours of episodic TV under the requsite deadlines that regularly occur. So, I'm coming from a fan-boy mindset for sure. That said, I recently 'upgraded' to Ventura from Big Sur on my Mac Pro (2019) and now I cannot see any of my Mac Mini servers - all 3 of which having been very reliable for years. I think it's useful info to state again how long I worked without issue albeit the usual suspects i.e. restarting the servers after a couple days as they would lose connection and crash Nuendo (currently N13). I'm not saying there haven't been issues as there certainly have been but my servers were always available/visible. I have seen other similar, though not totally exact, threads on here and decided to chime in as I beleive this to be a solvable problem - but it seems to have persisted in one way or another for quite some time now. One more thing of note - I have connected my servers in the past both with manual IP address and DHCP with no performance/reliability decernable difference. However, In a recent attempt to connect my servers I was able to connect by manually entering the IP but server performance was unuseable - at any buffer setting. I don't expect my experience to help, rather just to chime in with what appears to be more than a minor thorn in the side of what has been a very reliable platform. Right now I'm truly considering hosting VEPro on my main DAW and retiring my current Mini servers. My hope is that the team at VSL will fix this for all of us to once again use.
