  • What does "Timbre" do in Duality Strings?

I am the new owner of Duality Strings con sordino, and I love it. So glad VSL "did this right."

I've been playing with the "Timbre" control. I think I understand the purpose, but I am courious how this control affects the samples. It sounds like it is using equalization to reduce higher frequencies. Is that right, or is there more to it?

    Thanks!

  • Timbre Adjust was introduced back when we released Synchron Brass and allows to have additional finer control over the sound characteristics compared to VelocityXF (both can be used together for maximal control).
It works great with most instruments, so we started to include it in most new instrument presets.

There is more to it, but I can't talk about the details - it's part of our "secret sauce" 😉
